I was wandering through the streets of Ljubljana Slovenia, when I came across a man with a film stretched between two sticks; dripping, moving them back and forth. His motions created bubbles of all sizes, each one a shimmery, rainbow color, a sphere floating through the air. And as the bubbles slowly drifted, the children played, reaching, striking, lunging and surrounding the never ending array of colorful orbs.
Things moved very fast in the current age, with tiny perfect things easily overlooked. With a quick snap of my camera, this blissful moment in time was captured, displaying the flowing motion. I typically shoot in black and white, tying photography back to its roots and allowing a viewer to focus on the subjects and textures of the photo rather than bright colors. But by coloring just the bubbles they are able to pop out to the viewer, representing the moment of brief childhood delight. Oppositely the monochrome architecture is old, starting to decay and full of history, just as the colorless people eventually will.
